Luke 12:35-38
Jesus said to his disciples: "Gird your loins and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those affected by the California fires.
As I was searching for images of Jesus tonight for a slideshow, I was struck with the profane "liberties" people have taken with the image of Christ.
It made me want to be more like today's reading: vigilant. These profanities reminded me that we don't have much time to waste being mediocre. The temptation is real, from tithing to social norms to busyness. We have too many temptations in this world to be "complacent Christians" we we must fight vigilantly to remain focused and devoted to Our Lord through out trials and joys. Take care and God Bless.
