Retreat Preparation

Benedictine spirituality states that there are 5 lenses to spiritual balance:

- Spiritual
- Intellectual
- Health
- Work
- Rest

Entering into final week before the retreat, please take some time and be aware of "balance and boundaries" in these five areas. You can take a look at any one of the 5 and you can see how Satan can take one facet and bring that to either extreme.

Here are a few ideas for each --

Spiritual:
- Go to daily mass; if you can't make it, spend some time in adoration
- Go to confession

Intellectual:
- Do some research on something that may help on the weekend
- Finish off some research on something that may distract you this weekend if unresolved

Health:
- Watch what you eat ... try planning your meals to avoid getting into a time crunch where you'd be tempted to pick up your meal at a drive-thru
- Go for a walk / run / hike / bike ride / swim at some point this week

Work:
- Make sure you wrap up the things needed at work with diligence and accuracy
- Focus on being a "Christ-like" example at work this week... practice for the weekend

Rest:
- My personal favorite... GET SOME SLEEP!!! (you won't get any this weekend...)
- If you're an introvert, get some "quiet time" and enjoy the moment... If you're an extrovert, spend some time with family or friends and enjoy the moment

I pray you have a blessed week!

In His Love, theo
