Matthew 5: 13-16
Jesus said to his disciples: "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for a greater awareness of the roots of abortion stemming from the eugenics movement.
I was listening to the radio today and the priest talked about the life of St. Francis of Assisi. He changed the world and changed the Church not by seeking to change it, but rather desiring that He be changed by God.
We need to radiate the joyful light of Christ in this world that I fear is chasing after so many false lights. I know for myself that I need to seek that joy in Christ because I know that I am prone to chase after my own "false lights" which end up leading me back into darkness.
One such false light is the light of pride. How often am I blessed with divine inspiration, and then falsely think that it was my own? How often do I seek my own affirmation from something that is attributed to God alone?
Let us be Christ's light in this world, and in all blessings and all trials, let us give full, unbridled glory to God in all things. Take care and God Bless.
