John 3:31-36

The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy. For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit. The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the spread of Pope John Paul II's teachings, especially on his encyclical on The Eucharist, The Dignity of Women and The Theology of the Body.

Note: there will be no reflection tomorrow. Bishop Thomas Olmstead requested that all Catholic Church's close tomorrow in in remembrance of Pope John Paul II's funeral.

Jesus is risen! Alleluia!

There is great rejoicing that God is risen from the dead, but there isn't the same rejoicing when we're called to be obedient. It is strange because we should rejoice over God's goodness, and that goodness comes in the form of God's commands so that we can experience true freedom.

Today, give thanks to The Lord for the gift of His commandments that come through Jesus Christ in His word. Give thanks and rejoice in the scriptures that we look upon with confusion and fear because of our human nature. Give thanks and rejoice for God's faithfulness to each of us, and proclaim that God is trustworthy through your obedience. Take care and God Bless.
