John 15: 12-17

Jesus said to his disciples: "This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another."

Dawg's thought:

"It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you."

One day in adoration, God spoke to my heart in a very profound way:

"Your life was not meant for you; your life was meant for Me."

God humbled Himself and came down from heaven to lay down His life for us. Christ, who is The Way, shows us the way to heaven by giving His life for us. This is the way we are called to love. Christ chose you to give your life over to the will of The Father.

The most loving thing we can do for our neighbor is not to give our lives to them. The most loving thing we can do for our neighbor is to help them give their lives back to God. Our lives should point to God's goodness and mercy, and in doing this, we call others will be open to receive God's goodness and mercy. Loving someone is not hiding Christ from them but revealing Christ to them. We hide Christ when we put our fears first in our relationships with others. If you fear challenging someone to forgive, then you hide The Crucifixion from them. We are not called to hide Christ, but to reveal Christ to the world.

Christ calls us to love one another as He has loved us. How has Christ chosen you to live this calling out today? Take care and God Bless.
