Luke 11:37-41
After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for the gifts that God has given to you!
As time continues to pass, the idea of cleansing the "interior" continues to unfold. New layers in my life continue to reveal itself and remind me more and more everyday that I am in need of Christ to "redeem" my heart.
I always thought it would be opposite: the further in years you advance, the less and less you would feel the inclination to sin because you would hopefully grow closer and closer to Christ. Instead, though, with each passing day, I realize more and more how much I need Him and how much I need to surrender to Him.
Today, more than yesterday, praise God for the opportunity to grow closer to Him through your own failings and weaknesses. Take care and God Bless.
