Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus said to his disciples: "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who have chosen to live the celibate life, that they are strengthened in their choice to live out in this life what we are destined for in heaven.
Have you ever been in a power outage situation at night? I've been in this situation a few times. I remember fumbling around, trying to find a flashlight. My shins and toes have bumped into many solid objects. All I wanted to do was find a light... any light.
I also know the feeling of finding that flashlight. It wasn't much, but it mean so much to me to find that flashlight. It didn't illuminate the whole house, but it was enough so that I could get around without hurting myself. Besides, most houses have more than one light to illuminate the house anyway.
I hope that God can use me as a flashlight. As a flashlight, I know that I am not the final destination, but I pray that I can offer light to others and help them find what they're looking for, or rather, Who they're looking for. Take care and God Bless.
