Colossians 3:12-17
Brothers and sisters: Put on, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one Body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for the souls of those lost in September 11th and for those who mourn their loss.
Two years after September 11th, we have a reading from Colossians that reminds us that the greatest decision we can make is to love.
We can focus our time seeking revenge, or we can focus our time loving those who are mourning.
We can focus our time debating what's wrong in this world, or we can focus loving those whose world has fallen apart.
We can focus our time holding on to anger, or we can focus our time praying for forgiveness.
We have been given the gift of time by God, Who is beyond time. Beyond time, God calls us all to love, and by loving, calls us to be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, patient and forgiving. Brothers and sisters, one of the hardest things we can ever do is to forgive. One of the most loving things we can ever do is to forgive. Let us choose to love. Take care and God Bless.
