Tuesday within the Octave of Easter
John 20: 11-18

Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the Body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid him." When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" Mary went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and then reported what he had told her.

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those you know who have fallen away from the Church.

Hello everyone! Jesus is going to His Father and our Father, to His God and our God.

He is not dead and He is not a liar. He is alive and He is with Our Father. He is with us even though we may not recognize Him. He has come as a humble infant and in His resurrected body. He is present when we confess our sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He is present in the Eucharist.

Where have they taken our Lord? They may have taken prayer out of schools, but they have power to take Him out of the schools. They may have made decisions that have separated themselves from Him, but they cannot take Him away from us. He is there even though we may not be able to see Him.

It is easy to think of the Easter season as the time to merely celebrate. Our Lenten sacrifices are over. Yet, Jesus tells us, as He told Mary Magdalene, not to just hold on. There are lot of people who may think that God is dead because of what they heard. They may think that God is dead because of an addiction that they may be struggling with. They may think that God is dead because their lives are not what they think it should be.

Those who mourn need to know that God is not dead. He is alive! Amen!

Take care and God Bless.
