Matthew 5:38-42
Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for an increased awareness of the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.
Everything we have is from God. It's easy to forget.
What have we been given that we can say to Him, "Lord, I cannot give this to You?" What excuse would you use to reason why?
When I think of Abraham and Isaac, and how God called Abraham to sacrifice his son, it's amazing to think about how close he came to doing it.
Think of the missed opportunities that you had this day to offer an act of mercy for the Kingdom of God. Think of the times you tore someone down versus praying for them. Think of the times that you refused to offer some of your blessings because you feared that you'd be without. Think of the times that you chose not to act because you feared yourself or the consequences.
Everything we have is from God. How can we use what we have been given to build up His kingdom today? Take care and God Bless.
