Revelations 21: 9-14

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those discerning vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Sometimes it is good to recall that we, The Church, founded on the Apostles, are the bride of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is good to know that we are the beloved, and Jesus gives us His Body and His Blood so that we may have life. It is good to remember that Christ gave His Body so that He can bring us back home, to Heaven.

It is good to remember that The Church is founded upon the Apostles, who, besides St. John, gave their lives in martyrdom. In remembering that, it is good to remember that we are not exempt from giving our own lives to Our Loving Spouse, Jesus Christ.

It is good to remember the earthly wedding vows, and how a marriage should be "free, total, faithful and fruitful." It is good to remember that we must practice our faith with the same faithful commitment that can be found in a holy marriage.

It is good to remember the beauty of The Church, and to know that you are a part of it's beauty. Take care and God Bless.
