Seventh Octave in Christmas |
John 1:1-5 (the full Gospel reading for today is 1-18)
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race;
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for peace and protection for those in the holy land.
There is an awesomeness that comes to mind when I think of Christ. We can be awestruck by the many miracles He performed and the many wise words He said. While those things are great, what makes me sit in awe of Our Lord is His humility.
This past year, I have been challenged in the way that I love others. I have often let pride get in the way of truly loving others. Christ, through his humble obedience to the will of the Father and to each of us, chose to love because He was humble and obedient. Each of us are called to be humble in loving others and letting others love us. In this way, we recognize that Christ became one of us in humility. That is awesome. Take care and God Bless.
