2 Corinthians 9:6-10

Brothers and sisters: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written:

He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.

The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for the thwarted plans of the planned attack on a U.K. to U.S. airplane.

One of the most gut wrenching moments in my adolescent life was trying to get the words out to tell a girl I went out on a date with that I was interested in her. She lived about 40 minutes away so it was great time of agony. Fears of rejection held my tongue still as I tried to become vulnerable.

It's scary to be vulnerable.

Now, at a point where I can laugh at my adolescent "fears" I feel that I'm caught in a different form of vulnerability: Am I going to have enough money to get me through the next month... Am I doing what God wants me to be doing... and so on and so forth.

It's enough to make you freeze in your tracks. Maybe I should withhold my tithe this month... God will understand. Maybe I don't have enough time to give in service because I have so much work that needs to be done in the house. Real fears.

Yet, over the past week, we've been hearing about the faith of a Canaanite woman and the boy who gave his loaves and fishes to Christ so He could multiply it.

We will always have fears. Will we have faith? Will we have the faith that says, "Jesus, I know that I may not have enough money to cover this months expenses, but I trust in You and I realize that all I have is a gift from You. Here is my thanksgiving offering to You." Will we have the faith not only transforms our hearts to a deeper conversion to Christ but also challenges the fears of those who see their lives as one struggle after the other?

It's scary to be vulnerable. Yet, if you place your faith in The Lord, He will multiply your little act of faith within you.

So rejoice, you who are fear, for through you, Christ wants to work miracles, and He will. Take care and God Bless.
