Mark 12:35-37
As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, "How do the scribes claim that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord said to my lord, 'Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet.' David himself calls him 'lord'; so how is he his son?" The great crowd heard this with delight.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are homeless during these hot summer months, that through God's grace they may find shelter from the heat.
"He's a good teacher... He's a great role model... He's a wise man..."
Who is Jesus to you?
After reading and reflecting on today's reading, all I could think about what saying to myself "Jesus is Lord." That's a big commitment, and that's a lot of trust.
Lately, it means letting go of the things that I've placed as idols in my life. While I may not say things like, "*insert idol* is lord," my actions may say something different. An example from this morning would be, "I have to be at work on time" is lord, which turned into "I have to keep driving this way because I already started driving this way" is lord.
Jesus is Lord, and that means putting away the idols that make us turn from making that proclamation. Today, take a look at the different aspects of your life, and in all that you, always proclaim that Jesus is Lord. Take care and God Bless.
