Luke 12: 35-38
Jesus said to his disciples: "Gird your loins and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master's return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for Kelly Ketchum, who passed away this week after battling brain cancer for the past year and a half.
Being prepared has never been a strong point of mine. Besides, it's so hard when you have so many other things to do. I'm too busy to be prepared. I don't have time to slow down quiet myself in prayer. I don't have time to be still and know that He is God. I don't have time to prepare my heart.
Sometimes I get that way, and today's reading is a call to bring me back. I must continue to prepare myself for My Lord and My God. If I am too busy for that, then I have missed the point completely. Time is given to us a gift in order that we can prepare our hearts to be with Our Lord. Anything else that takes our focus away from Our Lord is of The Enemy, and we must guard ourselves against such evil.
May God find you ready when he calls you. Take care and God Bless.
