Mark 12:13-17
Some Pharisees and Herodians were sent to Jesus to ensnare him in his speech. They came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you are not concerned with anyone's opinion. You do not regard a person's status but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not? Should we pay or should we not pay?" Knowing their hypocrisy he said to them, "Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius to look at." They brought one to him and he said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" They replied to him, "Caesar's." So Jesus said to them, "Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God." They were utterly amazed at him.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for Len who is battling prostate cancer.
It's tough to think positively with everything coming out in the news in regards to the way things are going financially.
Thankfully, God gives us everything that we need. If Jesus tells us to give to Caesar what is Caesar's, then we can have faith that The Father will provide for those things that we need in order for this to be accomplished.
I have to watch my own thoughts because lately, I have gotten too consumed with all the negative news and the worry that comes with it. Unfortunately, this has distracted me too many times from "giving to God what is God's."
Lord God, Giver of all good gifts,
help me to place my faith in You
through the many worries that may come.
Help me to keep everything in perspective,
that You may be glorified
and that I may rend to You what is truly Yours. Amen.
Take care and God Bless.
