Matthew 5:38-42

Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for comfort for the parents of Mike Poulin.

They will know that we are Christians by our love, and love is never passive. "To love" is an action, and with every action, we have the choice to act.

How does this act look like? For me, I see the act of loving as receiving. Are you willing to receive those who the world has pushed away? Are you willing to receive others as a gift versus grasping at them for your own use? Are you willing to receive others serving you or does your pride push their service away? We know that others will see that we are Christians by our love. The question is do you know what it means to be a Christian by loving? Take care and God Bless.
