Luke 8:16-18
Jesus said to the crowd: "No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light. Take care, then, how you hear. To anyone who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he seems to have will be taken away."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are unemployed.
Behind this keyboard, I am not afraid to proclaim God's goodness.
Beyond this keyboard, though, I am humbled to say that at times I hide His light. I hide it when I am fearful that I am not intelligent enough to respond. I hide it when I am fearful that others will reject me.
I know that what I am doing is robbing them of the opportunity to know the joy and the freedom in a life transformed by Christ. When that joy and freedom is multiplied in others, it is my joy. When I hide that from others, I feel that joy become a burden in my heart.
Throughout the Bible, God reminds His people not to fear. Lord, help me not to fear Your ways. Rather, please help me see that Your ways are more than just for my joy, but for others as well. Lord, help me to shine Your truth and goodness to others so that this joy may continue to grow in me. Amen.
Take care and God Bless.
