Wednesday in the Second Week of Advent
Matthew 11: 28-30

Jesus said to the crowds: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of the soul of Martha Kupanoff.

In my employment history, there was one job that stands out in my mind. I worked there for four months, but in that four month time, I had to learn how to change my way of developing websites. Up until that point, I coded websites in a way that was not very flexible which made things harder when it came time to make an update to the website.

At this company, the way they coded websites was flexible. After working in the industry for eight years, it changed the way I thought on how a website can be built. What once seemed like a scavenger hunt turned into something that was easy to understand.

This was no fault to the last company that I worked for. I was part of the start of that company. I brought with me a methodology that I knew and it was a style that everyone in the company was familiar with.

Christ, Who is meek and humble of heart, invites us to learn from Him, and in learning, we can find rest. After I learned a better way to do things in my work, it freed me from a lot time and pressure.

If I would have come to that company without a humble heart, I probably would have been let go. Beyond the simple fact of being defiant, I would have also caused more work for others. I would have been the burden because of the ways I would have not been willing to let go.

In humility, may we continue to seek Our Lord, Who is meek and humble.
In humility, may we joyfully receive Our Lord, Whose yoke is easy and burden is light.

Take care and God Bless.
