Matthew 5:17-19
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who struggle with depression.
Just as it is Christ who fulfills the law, it is through Christ that we are able to be obedient and proclaim the Gospel message. When everything as we know it on this earth is gone, what will matter is how well we followed Christ.
I may not know what cross you carry, but I know you carry a cross I made for you. I may not know your struggles, but I know that it is through your obedience to Christ through your struggles that will allow you go become holy. We are called to love through our struggles... forgive when we struggle... be merciful in our struggles... be just when all seems lost. All this can only be done through Christ and with Christ. Take care and God Bless.
