John 6:37-40??Jesus said to the crowds: "Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for God's graces!
This morning after mass I had these lyrics playing in my head (for those familiar with this song, sing along):
... and I will raise you up,
and I will raise you up,
and I will raise you up on the last day.
Of course, it's easy to get a song stuck in your head, but this song was very profound for me this morning. It was profound because I knew it was Christ Who was singing this beautiful melody in my heart.
Obviously, it was from this morning's Gospel reading. Whenever we read scripture, it is Christ Who speaks to us in the intimate crevices of our broken hearts.
Today in the church we remember those who have passed away, otherwise known as "All Souls Day". The words of today's Gospel reading, in light of today's celebration, reminds us that Christ came to us so that we can be with Him. Death can no longer hold us back from His loving gaze! The death of His faithful have a reason to rejoice because we have the hope of everlasting life through Him.
Praise God for His wonderful graces! Take care and God Bless.
