Mark 6:7-13
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick -no food, no sack, no money in their belts. They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. He said to them, "Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave from there. Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them." So they went off and preached repentance. The Twelve drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for God's blessings.
So often as I write these reflections, I get bogged down with thinking about the things that I don't have to offer. I often wonder why I should even send these emails out because of my lack of knowledge.
Yet, I have to remember at all times that it is God Who provides.
Rich Mullins once said that poverty isn't about what you have, but what you can freely give. As I read through today's reading, I am reminded that God does provide what we need in all things. I pray that I do not waste His provision in my life by not freely giving of myself, my time and my treasure.
Take care and God Bless.
