1 Corinthians 3:1-9

Brothers and sisters, I could not talk to you as spiritual people, but as fleshly people, as infants in Christ. I fed you milk, not solid food, because you were unable to take it. Indeed, you are still not able, even now, for you are still of the flesh. While there is jealousy and rivalry among you, are you not of the flesh, and walking according to the manner of man? Whenever someone says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely men?

What is Apollos, after all, and what is Paul? Ministers through whom you became believers, just as the Lord assigned each one. I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth. Therefore, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive wages in proportion to his labor. For we are God's co-workers; you are God's field, God's building.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the elderly, especially those who feel alone.

Christ uses the imagery of "fishing" when He calls His disciples to be "fishers of men." In today's reading, we see the imagery of a gardener as St. Paul writes about planting and watering.

Following Christ means working. We must do the work of Christ, fully knowing that it is God who assigns us the work and it is God who will see that the work is brought to completion.

Therefore, it is important to be a good worker. I thought about what makes a good worker:

1. Thankful attitude
2. Seeks the greater good, even if it means sacrifice
3. Works well with others
4. Thoughtful of those around
5. Humble enough to admit being wrong or in need of help... and, more importantly, being humble when right or being asked to help

If you have any other advise to what makes a good worker, please feel free to send it over. We must remember that in all things, we are doing the work of God, and we must treat the work we have been given as holy because it is from God, and because it draws us closer to Him. Praise God! Take care and God Bless.
