Mark 8: 27-33

Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" They said in reply, "John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets." And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter said to him in reply, "You are the Christ." Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.

He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for an end to abortion and the use of contraception.

There's something about hindsight.

Last night after adoration, I decided to go to the convenience store to get some water. After purchasing some nice, refreshing water, I went into my car and the key would not turn the starter. I tried of 10 minutes after finally resolving that it would not turn. In disgust, I had a "Peter" moment and I told God what He should do ...

Just minutes earlier, I was before My Lord and My God and it was blessed. Just like Peter proclaiming, "You are the Christ."

All throughout this week, I was thinking about how I wanted to ride my bike into work today. I was very excited about this, especially since the weather has been gorgeous. The way things stood now, I would have to ride my bike to the convenience store and then drive my car into work and then drive back home. All the while, in my head I'm thinking about the words St. Theresa of Avila once to Jesus: "No wonder you have so few friends."

"You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do ... "

Well, I am looking outside my window and it looks like it's going to rain. All the while, I got my bike ride in and it looks like I won't have to worry about the rain.

There is something about hindsight. Take care and God Bless.
