Luke 13: 10-17

Jesus was teaching in a synagogue on the sabbath. And a woman was there who for eighteen years had been crippled by a spirit; she was bent over, completely incapable of standing erect. When Jesus saw her, he called to her and said, "Woman, you are set free of your infirmity." He laid his hands on her, and she at once stood up straight and glorified God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant that Jesus had cured on the sabbath, said to the crowd in reply, "There are six days when work should be done. Come on those days to be cured, not on the sabbath day." The Lord said to him in reply, "Hypocrites! Does not each one of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his ass from the manger and lead it out for watering? This daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for eighteen years now, ought she not to have been set free on the sabbath day from this bondage?" When he said this, all his adversaries were humiliated; and the whole crowd rejoiced at all the splendid deeds done by him.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for you, that you find the strength to stand up for the Gospel message in a world driven by fear.

God loves you no matter what day of the week it is. God love you not matter what hour of the day it is. God's love surpasses time; God's love has no barriers.

Unfortunately, the "crowd" was not able to understand this. Instead, they tried to use The Word of God against... well... God. It sounds rather ridiculous when you put it that way. We may take a look at a lot of things that are going on in our lives, and our response to God might reflect that of the "crowd" in today's reading. Fortunately, we have the whole Bible to tell us that we do not need to respond like the crowd. Rather, we can respond with an unconditional "yes" to God, fully trusting Him regardless of not fully understanding Him. We can spend the rest of our lives trying to put God in a box, but there is no box big enough to contain the fullness of God, and therefore the fullness of how important it is to trust in the love of God that has no barriers. Take care and God Bless.
