Friday in the Sixth Week of Easter
John 16: 20-23

Jesus said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy. When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world. So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for Helen, who is in the hospital due to prolapse.

"So you are now in anguish ... "

Right now, I am at a coffee place and "Firework" is playing over the speakers (I just Google'd it and found out that it is by Katy Perry). This anguish will end soon.

Yet, there is a greater work that is going on here. I am not referring to what I am typing, but rather what God is doing through this. It is my hope that what is done here on this computer is God's will. I know that His will transcends our everyday suffering. There is a joy that is greater than the fear of looking at my bank statement or the pain I feel in my neck.

When I feel the pain in my neck, I try my best to remember that there is a Heaven that is beyond this suffering. When I look at my bank statement, I try my best to remember that we are not meant to be tied to the things of this world. God is so merciful in this, and in His mercy, how can I not rejoice?

And so, let us ask the Father, in the name of Jesus, to give us the grace to endure the trials of our time so as to share in His triumph for all time. Take care and God Bless.
