Matthew 11:25-27
At that time Jesus exclaimed: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."

Today's prayer intention is for Elaine Mertes.
Lord God, there are things I wish I never knew,
there are ways I wish I never traveled,
and there are lies I wish I never bought.
I am ashamed to say that there were many times
I chose to do things on my own
instead of resting and trusting as Your child.
Yet, Lord, it is through those times of failures
and those times of arrogance,
that I know that I need Your mercy.
I know that I am Your child,
especially in those times
I come back to my own failures.
Father, help me surrender to being Your child,
through Jesus Christ, My Lord and My God. Amen.
