Mark 1:21-28
Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers, and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught. The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes. In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit; he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God!" Jesus rebuked him and said, "Quiet! Come out of him!" The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him. All were amazed and asked one another, "What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him." His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for God's blessings.
What time did you choose to get up this morning?
What did you choose to eat for breakfast, or did you even eat breakfast?
What did you choose to say to someone today?
How much of that do you take for granted?
God has dominion over all creation. How much is His trust in us, then, that He allows us to choose to be obedient? How much is His trust in us that we can choose His ways in even the littlest thoughts we have in our minds? How much is His trust in us that He allows us to choose sin?
Last night, there was a football game here in Phoenix, Arizona. Ohio State was suppose to walk all over Florida in the National Championship game. Florida was triumphant. Florida took the opportunity they had and beat the odds.
Every one of us has that opportunity to rise to the occasion and it is given to us by God. Let us take every small moment to give praise to Him just as Florida must have taken every small step to train for Ohio State. Let us live as a people who give glory to God through our free will. Take care and God Bless.
