Matthew 7:6, 12-14
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
"Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few."

Pearls before swine... The narrow gate...
You can read today's reading and think to yourself that the Christian walk is not for everyone.
As I was reflecting on today's reading, though, I was reminded that God works in cooperation with our free will. Through free will, we can choose the ways of Christ, and that desire to follow, we can slowly know and understand (and therefore, appreciate) the gifts of heaven. Our eyes gradually turn from desiring the light of the world to the light of heaven.
If we are to choose the narrow way, we must allow ourselves to be transformed by God's grace, which is ever-flowing. As we purify our wills, then, may we come to know and love God's ways so that we may choose the narrow gate through our hope in Our Lord and Our God, Jesus Christ. Take care and God Bless.
