Our Lady of Guadalupe
Luke 1:39-47

Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."

And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for a special intention.

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. For more information, visit:

What are the things that are stressing you out right now? Are you having a hard time with a family member or a friend? Are you struggling financially to make end meet? Are you sorrowful about a loved one?

What do you fear? Do you fear that you are not good enough? Do you fear that things in your life are only going to get worse? Do you fear that you won't make it?

Mary had many things to be fearful of, but look at her response: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior." Earlier this year, in a submission to Our Lord's divine will, I prayed this prayer. For a brief moment, my mind was no longer on the things of the future that I worried about.

It's difficult to think about God's goodness day to day or even minute by minute. Today, give yourself the freedom to "proclaim the greatness of The Lord" and allow your spirit to "rejoice in God, Our Savior." Take care and God Bless.
