Luke 11: 37-41
After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."
Dawg's Thought:
Today's prayer intention - for healing for those that you know.
It seems that there are a lot of people who are concerned about their online presence. I was once told that I could make a lucrative business by offering photography for profile photos.
Online, it is easy to have your best foot forward. After all, you can control what people see about you, from your photos to what you post about.
We don't know what is beyond the posts and what is beyond the doctored-up photo. We don't know what is beyond the funny video. We don't know what is beyond the post that simply reads, "please pray for me."
I am not God so I cannot read hearts. What I do know is that we all struggle and we all are trying our best to at least have an cup that looks clean on the outside. We don't know what is going on with someone on the inside, just as they don't know what struggles you are going through as well.
God does, and we struggle with the dirt in our own cups, we can know that we are in solidarity with others who are struggling to.
So please pray for me, and I offer up this prayer for you. May the Maker cleanse us according to what is merciful for each of us.
Take care and God Bless.
