Luke 10:21-24
Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
Turning to the disciples in private he said, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who have been affected in the recent natural disasters in the Phillipines. Also, for the repose of the soul of the cousin of a friend of mine who passed away in a car accident this past weekend.
It's a running joke that guys don't like to ask for directions when they're lost. Can you imagine just driving around for hours upon hours trying to find a place and all you have to do is ask for directions? How many wrong roads do you have to go down? How many different off-ramps do you have to take?
What if we took the spiritual life like this? Consider the fact that every human being from conception until natural death has God's "spirit" breathed within them. How many "spirits" are out there not asking for directions? How many "spirits" are out there who don't even know the journey they should be heading for.
Just like children need direction in how to do simple things, we need direction on simple things. Help is there and we only need to ask. The Holy Spirit, our spiritual GPS system, longs to inspire us to do the will and the work of The Father. Just as Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, let us do the same and invite Him into our hearts so that we may be able to give praise to Our Lord, Who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Take care and God Bless.
