Mark 1:29-39

On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Simon's mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. The whole town was gathered at the door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. Simon and those who were with him pursued him and on finding him said, "Everyone is looking for you." He told them, "Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come." So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for peace in the Phillipines, in lew of the 2 bomb blasts, and for safe travels for a friend of mine who is there now.

Normally when a major disaster strikes, you see a few people rise up and go to help. There is something that moves them to go and offer their aid. Recent memories include 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Is it hard to imagine that God, whom we are made in the image and likeness of, would come to us in this way? Is it hard to imagine that God continues to give His healing to us today? Is it hard to imagine that just in the past year, God has worked something in your heart through His grace that will allow you to know Him and freely give praise to Him?

We are not done yet, brothers and sisters. He is still working in us daily, healing us of the things we need to be healed of. It is up to us to remain faithful. Over the past few days, my prayers have gravitated to being "obedient through hope." Let us continue to place our hope in Our Lord that all things in our lives will lead us and heal us so that we can be with Him eternally. Take care and God Bless.
