Luke 11:29-32

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who will be going on retreats this Lent, especially for the CRYS 28 retreat and the CHRP men's retreat.

"When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way, he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them; he did not carry it out." - Jonah 3:10

We all want a sign for the things we desire in our lives. God will point us to His will, but He will never take our will from us in the process.

The Ninevites, upon hearing Jonah's proclamation of God's word, immediately desired to change their lives and fall into a state of prayer, fasting and repentance. In their desire to please The Lord, He was pleased to show them mercy.

We need to fall into the same state of repentance as the Ninevites fell into upon hearing Jonah's proclamation. We need to look at our lives and see how we have failed to show mercy to others, and then turn to God to show us mercy and asking for His grace.

This choice we have to turn to God is a great gift from Our Lord and we must use it with great care and respect. Take care and God Bless.
