Luke 4: 38-44

After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with him about her. He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and waited on them.

At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to him. He laid his hands on each of them and cured them. And demons also came out from many, shouting, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak because they knew that he was the Christ.

At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place. The crowds went looking for him, and when they came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them. But he said to them, "To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent." And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who are seeking work.

It is great when we have that season when Christ is so present to us and we are aware of this. These moments of spiritual affirmation are a beautiful time.

Yet, there are those times when it feels like Christ's affirmations "moved to another town." He left those who wanted Him to stay to continue doing the Father's will. It is always hard when those spiritual affirmations leave because of the fear of losing Him or the fear of sliding back into old habits. In the same way that Christ had to go forth to continue bringing the Good News to others, these spiritual affirmations leaving us contains a good because it is an act of God. We may not understand the good, but it is also an affirmation to us as well: God trusts us to remain in Him through faith. We may not feel affirmed, but in a way we are affirmed even more so, like a child who allowed to ride his bike without training wheels.

In either season, let us rejoice in God for His goodness and faithfulness to us. Take care and God Bless.
