Feast of the Archangels |
Revelations 12: 7-12
War broke out in heaven;
Michael and his angels battled against the dragon.
The dragon and its angels fought back,
but they did not prevail
and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
The huge dragon, the ancient serpent,
who is called the Devil and Satan,
who deceived the whole world,
was thrown down to earth,
and its angels were thrown down with it.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have salvation and power come,
and the Kingdom of our God
and the authority of his Anointed.
For the accuser of our brothers is cast out,
who accuses them before our God day and night.
They conquered him by the Blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
love for life did not deter them from death.
Therefore, rejoice, you heavens,
and you who dwell in them."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are actively seeking Christ through initiation into The Church.
There is a very real battle going on right now for your soul. Satan is doing everything in his power to "steal" your soul away from God because it is the only way Satan can hurt God.
Today in The Church we celebrate the "Feast of St. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael," otherwise known as the Feast of the Archangels. As we look at the mission of the Archangels throughout the Bible, one thing remains consistent: their work is centered on glorifying God. Our work on this earth must remain centered on glorifying God. In this, we do our part in the battle that is going on in this world today.
There is no time to be lukewarm. There is no time to be politically correct. The battle for your soul and the souls of those you love (and don't love) is going on as we speak, and we must be willing to take a stand against the one whose only desire is to hurt The One who truly loves us. Let us glorify God together, preaching the power of the Good News in our lives; there is no time to waste. Take care and God Bless.
