John 12:44-50
Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me, and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness. And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day, because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
The third Glorious mystery is the "Decent of the Holy Spirit." While meditating on this mystery this morning, I was struck with the thought of how God comes to us, but does not force Himself upon us.
Christ, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, comes to us through the incarnation. Today's reading affirms that it is our choice to accept Christ into our own lives. God will never take our free will from us and He will continue to allow us to make our own mistakes.
Before sin entered the world, Adam and Eve "walked" and "talked" with God. They were able to be in His presence, and recognized that God came to them to be with them. It is important to know this nature of God in order to understand how Satan works in our own sinfulness. Satan's interest in our free will is that he can use our free will to hurt Our Lord, who comes to us because He loves us.
"... everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness."
Remain faithful, brothers and sisters, for you were not made for darkness. You were made for God. Take care and God Bless.
