Leviticus 19:1-2, 11-18

The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the whole assembly of the children of Israel and tell them: Be holy, for I, the LORD, your God, am holy.

"You shall not steal. You shall not lie or speak falsely to one another. You shall not swear falsely by my name, thus profaning the name of your God. I am the LORD.

"You shall not defraud or rob your neighbor. You shall not withhold overnight the wages of your day laborer. You shall not curse the deaf, or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but you shall fear your God. I am the LORD.

"You shall not act dishonestly in rendering judgment. Show neither partiality to the weak nor deference to the mighty, but judge your fellow men justly. You shall not go about spreading slander among your kin; nor shall you stand by idly when your neighbor's life is at stake. I am the LORD.

"You shall not bear hatred for your brother in your heart. Though you may have to reprove him, do not incur sin because of him. Take no revenge and cherish no grudge against your fellow countrymen. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for Adolf Wild, who passed away yesterday after a long and generous life.

"Be holy, for I, the LORD, your God, am holy."

Have you seen "The Passion of Christ" yet? If you haven't, you should.

During the movie, you see Satan lurking everywhere, and he shows up at times when the characters are acting anything less than holy. The thing is that the reason why people were acting that way is because they truly did not know what they were doing.

Enter today's reading with the Ten Commandments. When Jesus entered into the world, the Old Testament was no made obsolete, but rather came to fulfillment. The Ten Commandments is the building blocks that give each of true accountability. If you didn't know what sin was about before, now you do.

Each of these acts rely on trusting in Our Lord above all other things. If there is no trust in Our Lord, then living each of these commandments out become useless. We must follow each of these commands with the desire of growing closer to Our Lord.

We know how we are suppose to act, and therefore we have a greater accountability. With this greater accountability, we are called to a greater surrender and a greater obedience. If you feel like you have fallen far from Him, go through each of these ten commandments and pray about where you need help. Surrender all desires of sinfulness to virtue and strive for holiness, for Our Lord, Our God, is holy. Take care and God Bless.
