Tuesday in the Third Week of Easter |
John 6: 30 - 35
The crowd said to Jesus: "What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:
He gave them bread from heaven to eat."
So Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
So they said to Jesus, "Sir, give us this bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are stranded because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
I was in California a few weeks ago and I had a chance to see my nephew, JT. It's his first season of t-ball, and it was a joy to watch him play the game. It seems like yesterday when he was born. It's been great to watch him grow up.
It gives me joy to see him start to learn and experience things.
I often wonder how joyful Our Lord is when we receive Him in the form of His Body given as the Bread of Life. How much joy must He have for us as we receive Him! How much joy must He have to be able to give Himself and be received.
Just thinking about that brings me joy, and a greater desire to receive Him in His Body and His Blood. Let us not pass over this great Gift. Take care and God Bless.
