John 21:15-19

After Jesus had revealed himself to his disciples and eaten breakfast with them, he said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs." He then said to Simon Peter a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." He said this signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for small faith-based communities gathering in Our Lord's name, and for an increase in those communities.

"Do you love me more than these?"

Yes, Lord.[1]

Take care and God Bless... [2]

[1] Depends.

When I'm in Church, praising Your name, you bet "Your Resurrected Life" yes.

I'll lay down my life when everyone else is around!
I'll lay down my life in the sight of your crown!
I'll lay down my life when there's no threat!
I'll lay down my life when it's no sweat!

Outside of Church, Lord, you got some competition. First and foremost from myself!

There are those times when I get bored.
Those times make it tough to follow you, Lord.
There there are those angry times
when I'm consumed why You won't save me from long lines.

I get tired and forget Your commands
and who has enough energy to love Your lambs?
Don't forget when my desire
seems to take a priority that's higher.

Don't forget my greatest condition of all
when stress leads me to a greater fall
and I'm so consumed with myself
that I lose sight of heavenly wealth.

So, in other words, Lord, it depends.

[2] I apologize for my extremely loopy reflection.
