Matthew 11:25-27

At that time Jesus exclaimed: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who work with the dying, that the Holy Spirit will give them the grace to see Christ in their suffering.

Have you ever seen a child when they discover something new? I recently had the joy of witnessing a two year old experience the beach for the first time. I watched as she walked out towards the ocean towards the arms of her mother. I watched as she played in the oversized sandbox. I watched the joy as she discovered the wonders of God's creation.

Then, there was me: "There's too much bugs here..." "The water looks dirty..." "The waves are too small..." "It's too crowded..."

Then, there is me with God: "Following His ways is too hard..." "I have a better understanding of my own life and I don't need His ways..." "I know my path to God is secure and there is no need for me to grow..."

Then, there was the Pharisees: "Crucify Him!"

Their pride got in the way of seeing that God was right in front of them. They thought that they would know when The Messiah would come and how He would come. Instead, they focused on the fact the He spoke in what they termed "blasphemy." Instead, they focused on who they thought God should be versus Who God truly is. The "wise and learned" could not accept Christ. Are you "childlike" enough to accept Him? Take care and God Bless.
