Matthew 6:7-15
Jesus said to his disciples: "In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
"This is how you are to pray:
'Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.'
"If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for teenagers, who have many temptations to deal with, for God's grace to work in their lives.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "What the heck am I doing," or "Where the heck am I going?" We can almost become overwhelmed with anxiety.
In times of doubt... in times of fear... we have been given a wonderful gift from Our Lord and Savior: The Our Father. This gift never wears out, and there is no roaming charges. You won't be penalized for off-peak hours. It's a prayer that has gotten me through many trials, and I know I can reach for it through upcoming ones.
We have been given a great gift through Our Lord's mercy and providence. Let us find joy in Him alone. Take care and God Bless.
