Matthew 10: 7-15

Jesus said to his Apostles: "As you go, make this proclamation: 'The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts; no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep. Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave. As you enter a house, wish it peace. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you. Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words ? go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet. Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for an increase in faithful people living out the Gospel message, especially among teenagers and young adults.

Following the will of God is really hard in this world today. Do you agree with me?

We will all be sent forth at some point in our lives or another. We will be sent to the houses of our neighbors, our relatives and even strangers who need to hear the message of the Gospel. Last night I was sent to the house of a very generous man who wanted me to create an animation that would compromise the dignity of the human person. I was fortunate enough that God inspired me with an answer, for there were a few minutes when I started to panic within me. I will continue to pray for him and his family as we continue to work together.

You will never know the time or the place when God will ask you to proclaim 'The Kingdom of heaven is at hand." You may be in a bar with friends. You may be shopping for groceries. You may even be in Church when God calls you to proclaim these words. Life is not longer about being popular, like it was when we were 16. Life is about The Life, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Our God. We are no longer called to live our lives trying to just get by; we are called to live our lives in obedience to God's will and trusting in His divine providence. We are all drowning in a sea of lies, and the further we fall into the depths of the lies, the hard it will be to reach the light. It is up to us to swim towards the light so that others can see that they are drowning too. It is up to us to point upwards versus staying complacent at the bottom of the sea. It is up to us to submit our lives to God so that others may come to believe and know that they are drowning just like we are.

I pray for you this day, dear beautiful child of God, because I KNOW that God has a great plan in store for you. You have been called to proclaim these words this day: The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Take care and God Bless.

PS: For those of you who are Catholic, today is Thursday and today we are asked to pray the Luminous Mysteries. Please pray the Rosary and contemplate on the Mysteries of Light:

1. Jesus is baptized
2. Jesus turns water into wine at the wedding in Cana
3. THE PROCLAMATION OF THE KINGDOM
4. The Transfiguration
5. Jesus gives His Body and Blood in the Most Holy Eucharist
