Luke 7: 18b-23
At that time, John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?" When the men came to the Lord, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'" At that time Jesus cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits; he also granted sight to many who were blind. And Jesus said to them in reply, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me."
Dawg's Thought:
Today's prayer intention - for those who are persecuted for their faith.
Recently in prayer, I felt God was calling me to look back at how He has called me and how He has worked in my life. It seems like a good thing to do: review your life and see that God has been present ... He is present ... He will be present.
St. John the Baptist knew his time was coming. Jesus doesn't tell the disciples of John simply, "I AM He." Instead, Jesus recounts the ways of God to John's disciples. He has done great things ... He does great things ... He will do great things.
I have noticed that in my life, the question--"are you the One?"--comes up very subtly. There is always something that seems tempting that draws me to think of something other than God Himself, "are you the one?" He is the desire of hearts that we knew but did not pursue in our past ... we know and struggle to pursue in our present ... we will know eternally in our future.
The Lord has done great things for us.
We are filled with joy!
Take care and God Bless.
