Matthew 16:24-28

Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory, and then he will repay each according to his conduct. Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the those who have been affected by the floods in India.

As I was driving on the freeway today, I had to get over and the car in the other lane decided that it was time to speed up so that I couldn't get in. I let him pass and watched him speed away.

I know that God has been working on my heart to be more loving. If this had been a few years... heck, even a few months earlier... okay, yesterday, I would have: sped up to cut him off and then let him pass and then begin to tail him.

This is a tiny example of how we are called to love.

As I go through the memory banks, I can think of many times (not just on the road) when I failed to restrain myself for the sake of loving. It is a tough road we walk as Christians, but we have an example of a man named Jesus who walked a really tough road. In our own suffering, we can unite our suffering with Christ and know that we are loving Christ when love as He has loved us. Take care and God Bless.
