Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin
Luke 19:45-48

Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things, saying to them, "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." And every day he was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who labor for unfair wages, that they will see justice.

In keeping with yesterday's reflection, Christ will not let His Bride go away without taking action. He loves His Bride very much, and He will do anything in order to make sure that she is purified.

When we take a look at the scandals going on in The Church today, it seems like everything is going downhill. Yet, I cannot help but wonder if all that is going on is the purification that we need. Just as Jesus drove away those who took advantage of the holiness of the temple, I wonder if Christ is driving away those who are driving away souls from The Church due to their infidelity.

What about us? Will He find us ready to worship Him? Do we truly come to Him to worship and adore Him? Are our prayer lives truly a time of prayer? Just as Christ drove away those who took away those who were not at the temple for the right reasons, we must be willing to drive away those things that take away from our desires to pray and be with Him. All other desires take away from the desire to love and be with Him, and therefore those other desires need to be thrown out (my reluctancy to write that last line comes from the fact that I'm not ready to give up those desires yet). We must do this because we love The Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, who gives His life to us freely, totally, faithfully and fruitfully.

He will not let us go away without taking action, because He loves us. Take care and God Bless.
