Luke 8: 16-18

Jesus said to the crowd: "No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light. Take care, then, how you hear. To anyone who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he seems to have will be taken away."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who have been affected by Hurricane Isabel.

This weekend, I attended a birthday party for a baby who turned one year old this past week. When it came time for her and her mother to open the presents, everyone gathered around to watch as each present was opened. As the mother opened each present, she displayed each gift with gratitude, holding the presents up in the air so that everyone could see.

Can you imagine if she took each present and said, "That's nice... I'll put it away in the trash." Obviously, if she did that, she wouldn't receive any presents next year.

When you buy presents for someone you care about, how much effort do you put into selecting the present? How much thought goes into how much they'll appreciate it? How much thought goes into how much they'll use it? If it's someone you care about, you take the time to think about it because you care about them. God gives us so many blessings because of His great love for each of us. Every gift we have should be displayed with great joy and appreciation.

I pray that you know how much God loves you today. Take care and God Bless.
