John 16:20-23
Jesus said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy. When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world. So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intention is for those who are unemployed.
In many ways, I feel like our hour has arrived. As many rejoice, there are those who mourn for there are many attacks on the dignity of life, and all I feel that we have left is our voices and our prayers.
Lord, I ask that You help us in this time. Help us to persevere and to speak up in response to the many lies. Help us to defend Your ways and to defend the dignity of the lives You gave your life for on the cross. Lord, help us not to cling to our desires of comfort, but rather, let us embrace the persecutions we may endure so that You may be glorified.
Lord, I desire for You to be loved in this world. Please, strengthen me in this time of "labor" we are all enduring.
Take care and God Bless.
