Matthew 7:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
So by their fruits you will know them."
Dawg's thought:
Today's prayer intentions are for the repose of the soul of Jeffrey Allen and for Marie, who has leukemia and is waiting for a bone marrow donor match.
What kind of fruit are you looking for? After all, if we're looking for "financial" success or "popularity" success, then that might be the fruit that we are attracted to.
Fortunately, Christ wants to purify us. He wants to purify our desires so that our desires are directed to the perfect fruits. We can see these fruits in the saints who have gone before us. We can see these fruits in modern-day Christ-centered examples in Blessed Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
What kind of fruit are you looking for? Offer your desires to Christ and allow Him to purify them. Take care and God Bless.
