Luke 14: 25-33

Great crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and addressed them, "If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, 'This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.' Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops? But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms. In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of soul of Francisco Caballes.

Recently, I have been reflecting on my own spiritual journey. I had no "end goal" in mind when I started going to Church; I went because of friends. I had "end goal" in mind when I started doing this ministry; I just wanted a friend to know the faith.

Looking back, my spiritual journey reflects that: I was a man who was just learning about my faith because it seemed like a good thing.

So, it's good for me to remember the goal: the Cross.

I heard an expression recently: aim for nothing and you'll hit it every time. If we aim for the Cross, how will that affect our daily lives? If we aim for the Cross, how will that affect our prayer life and our relationships with others?

On my journey, I explored a lot, but I always knew that my trainer was always lead me to my goal. The trainer is The Church, founded by Jesus Christ. Even though it has taken me this long to discover what I need to aim for, my Trainer kept me on the right path.

Let us give thanks for the Church, Whom illuminates our path to heaven. Take care and God Bless.
